The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has launched its Local Master’s Postgraduate Scholarship for the 2025/2026 academic session, aimed at fostering human capital development within the Niger Delta region. This fully funded scholarship supports Master’s degree studies at accredited Nigerian universities in disciplines that contribute to regional and national growth.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Indigene of the Niger Delta region (young Nigerians from the oil-rich states).
  • Maximum age: 40 years old.
  • Must hold one of the following:
    • A First Class, Second Class Upper, or Second Class Lower Bachelor’s degree;
    • Or an HND (Upper Credit) plus a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD).
  • Must have completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) (for candidates with degrees).
  • Must not be older than 40, nor have any criminal or cult-related records.

Application & Selection Process

Submit your application online through the NDDC’s official portal: www.nddc.gov.ng

    Upload required documents:

    • Recent passport photograph
    • Local Government Identification Letter
    • Postgraduate admission letter from an accredited Nigerian university
    • Academic transcripts and NYSC discharge/exemption certificate (if applicable)
    • (Where applicable) WASSCE/NECO results

    Shortlisting based on academic performance, age, and identification.

    Computer-Based Test (CBT):

    • Conducted in locations such as Akwa Ibom, Delta, and Rivers States.
    • Candidates must score at least 70% to advance to the next stage.

    Oral Interview & Final Verification:

    • Successful CBT candidates undergo oral interviews and final checks via local government and community development committees

    Final decisions are at the discretion of the Commission; no changes in course or institution are allowed post-acceptance.
